Good Morning and Portville Panthers!

TODAY is Monday, May 1st, 2023                                                                           It is a  “ B “  Day

 

Attention Seniors- If you are interested in being an Ecology Camp Counselor, applications are available in the high school office.  The completed application is due back to Mrs. Baker by this Friday, May 5th.    

 

Reminder to 8th Graders – Tomorrow is the Parent Meeting for the Close Up Washington DC Trip – don’t forget - tomorrow at 6 pm!

 

Juniors and seniors: Please Listen up…..Tomorrow is the LAST day to purchase your prom tickets!!! Please see Mrs Pascucci OR use the Venmo code. 

 

Applications are now available for our PCS Summer recreation program. The program is scheduled to operate from July 10th -August 10th.  Applicants should be at least 16 years of age and may require life guard certification. Applications can be picked up and should be dropped off in the elementary office no later than May 12th .

 

Reminder that Portville will be taking students to a Buffalo Bison’s game on Friday, June 2nd.  You can enjoy some food, Baseball, and fireworks. Please sign up outside of Mrs Morella’s room, 201, by May 19th and return the permission slip as soon as possible.

 

Reminder to Juniors and Seniors planning on attending the Prom… If you are on the Ineligibility List – you must be attending Study Center every day Monday through Thursday each week until Prom or work to get off the list.  Any questions, please see Mr. Welty. 

 

NOW FOR YOUR PCS SPRING SPORTS:

The Portville Lady Panthers fell to 6 and 2 at the hands of a solid Randolph team Saturday evening in the championship game of the 2nd Annual Don Jordan Memorial Tournament losing 8-1. Alisha Dickerson pitched a full game tossing 6 strikeouts, 4 walks, and scattering 7 hits. Teagan Kosinski led the offensive attack going 2-4 with two singles, a stolen base, and scoring the Panthers lone run. Sam Steadman chipped in an RBI single to help the Panthers cause. Congratulations to Alisha Dickerson & Teagan Kosinski for being selected to the All-Tournament team. Portville looks to get back on track today as they host Franklinville in league action. Game time is 5:00pm. GO PANTHERS!!

 

Congratulations to the varsity track and field athletes that competed on Friday at Gator Relays in Allegany.

 

The boys results included:

The shuttle hurdle relay team consisting of Parker Dornan, Daniel Vanbuskirk, David Brown, and Riley Horsley placed 5th

The 4 by 100 meter relay team consisting of Parker Dornan, Kyle North, Bryan Randolph, and Riley Horsley placed 3rd

The 4 by 400 meter relay team consisting of Parker Dornan, Simon Szymanski, Bryan Randolph, and Riley Horsley placed 3rd

The sprint medley relay team consisting of Parker Dornan, Kyle North, Bryan Randolph, and Simon Szymanski placed 3rd

 

The girls results included:

 

The distance medley relay team consisting of Samantha Bray, Addison Isaman, Allison Bray, and Ava Haynes placed 3rd

The shuttle hurdle relay team consisting of Anna Keeley, Natalie Maurer, Olivia Dean, and Aryanna Hatch placed 5th

The 1500 meter run relay team consisting of Hailey Edwards and Samantha Bray placed 4th

The 4 by 800 meter relay team consisting of Addison Isaman, Hailey Edwards, Ava Haynes, and Samantha Bray placed 4th

The high jump relay team consisting of Ava Haynes and Hali Brundage placed 2nd

The triple jump relay team consisting of Emma Rhinehart and Addison Isaman placed 4th

The 4 by 100 relay team consisting of Olivia Dean, Jessica Daley, Jenna Wyant, Julia Wyant placed 1st

The long jump relay team consisting of Emma Rhinehart and Alana Petersen placed 5th

And last but not least Aryanna Hatch, Jessica Daley, Jenna Wyant, and Julia Wyant placed 1st  in the 4 by 200 meter relay, the sprint medley relay, and the 4 by 400 meter relay. The teams host Franklinville/Ellicottville home on Tuesday for their senior night, come out and support!
