What was the famous band that named themselves after a Muddy Waters song? The answer is the British band The Rolling Stones named themselves after Muddy Waters' 1950 song "Rollin' Stone". The Rolling Stones regarded Muddy Waters as a great influence over their music. The winners this were Abby Maxson and Zach Morella. Attention all of Mrs. Colligan’s, Mr. Gnan’s and Mrs. Luce’s PE classes you are to report to the South Gym this week for class.
Attention aspiring chefs in grades 7-12. The next Culinary Club is on Wednesday, February 7th right after school. We will be baking Chewy Maple Cookies and Coconut Macarons.
Looking for something to do on President’s Day, Monday February 19th? Portville will be taking students, grades 7-12, to see the Buffalo Sabre’s take on the Anaheim Ducks. Spots are limited to the first 30 people. Please sign-up in the high school office. See Mrs. Sosnowski or Mrs. Morella, room 201, for details.
REMINDER 7TH AND 8TH GRADERS!!! There will be a dance, just for you, on Friday, February 9th from 6:00-8:00 PM in the high school gym. Cost is $3 per person at the door and bring a little extra spending money for pizza and snacks. This fun event is brought to you by the Class of 2025.

Spring sports physicals are Wednesday, Feb 7th , If you are planning on playing a spring sport and you need a physical, please sign up today in the nurse's office.

ATTENTION any girls interested in signing up for Modified, JV, or Varsity softball sign up sheets are posted outside of Coach Torrey’s room. REMINDER you MUST have your physical and code of conduct taken care of PRIOR to trying out! If you need a physical spring sports physicals are taking place at school on February 7th please sign up in the nurses office. NO PHYSICAL = NO TRYOUT. Any questions please see Coach Torrey.
Bowling results from our final regular season match against West Valley.
Boys 4-0, overall 38-26, the boys came in 4th in the league.
Girls 4-0, overall 44-12, the girls came in 2nd in the league.
Emma Pinney 532 series. She finished the season with a 157 average. She finished 3rd overall in the league making the 1st team all-star.
Kiyah Mohr 522 series. She finished 6th overall in the league making the 2nd team all-star.
Milo Backus 418 series. He finished the season with a 112 average.
Saturday 8 Portville wrestlers punched their ticket to the Section VI State Qualifiers next week at Lake Shore - including a champion at 145. We also secured a 4th place team finish to round out the day.
