“Attention anyone interested in participating in the Portville College Scholarships televised morning announcements.  A meeting for interested students will be held Monday Sept. 16 afterschool in room 203.”

 

“There will be a sophmore class officer meeting on Monday September 16th, during period X in room 203.”

 

Feeling creative?  Couldn't fit art in your schedule?  Come join Art Society!  All students grades 7-12 welcome.  First meeting will be next Monday, September 16 from 2:30-3:30 in Ms. Burdick's art room, 103.  See Ms. Burdick for more information.

 

Anyone in grades 7th through 12th interested in running for Student Council, please pick up an application in the main office or in Mrs. Welty’s room.  They are due back by Friday, September 20th

 

Yearbooks are currently on sale for the lowest price of the year!  Plus, if you personalize your book, you will receive four icons for free.  English teachers have flyers that show you ways to place your order.  This offer is good until Friday, September 27th.  After this date, the price will increase. 

 

Have you heard all the Buzz?  The Bee keeping club will be having its first meeting of the school year on Tuesday, September 17th after school in Mr. Canfield's room.  Please sign up outside Mr. Canfield' classroom room 218 if you are planning to attend.  

 

There will be an International Club in the HS library on Monday Sept 16th during period X in the HS library.   We will vote for officers, discuss our fundraiser, and discuss our trip to Italy and Greece in 2026.

 

The Western New York College Consortium will be at PCS on September 26th.  The presentation will be in the John Dubot’s Room at 11:00 AM.  Please be prompt.  All interested juniors and seniors are welcome to attend.

 

For any junior interested in taking the PSAT, signups are being held in the Guidance Office between now and October 2.  In order to sign up, you will need $18.00.  Please bring the exact amount as we do not have change.

 

Attention juniors and seniors:  If you are interested in taking the ASVAB on October 22, please sign up in the guidance office on or before October 7, 2024.  The test is free.

 

Attention students in grades 10-12, there is an upcoming community service opportunity. Enchanted Valley Farm is hosting Fall Farm Fest for Pediatric Cancer on September 29th and they are looking for volunteers to help with parking cars and other jobs. They are looking for 3-4 students for the 8:30-11:30 AM shift and 3-5 students for the 11:30-2:30 shift. T shirts are provided for the event as well. If interested contact or see Mr. Mitchell ASAP.

 

No for your PCS Sports News!....

Emmalie Gehm captured the 500 free and placed 2nd in the 200 IM for the Girls Swim Team.  Samirah Muyhee swam 2 personal best swims.

 

Last night the girls varsity soccer team defeated Salamanca 9 to 0. The Aiden Award went to Ava Edwards, netting her first career hat trick. Grace Gariepy also added a hat trick and an assist. Emma Rhinehart, Gianna Aloi, and Lauren Lyle scored one goal each, and Ashley Carls and Natalie Reynolds added assists. Bella Morales had two saves in goal. Portville heads to Lake Shore tonight.

 

The JV Girls volleyball team defeated Jamestown last night 25-17, 25-10 & 26-24.  Marissa Carls led the team with a double double serving 16 points with 10 aces and 10 assists, Elaina Thompson chipped in With 5 aces while Ana Haynes delivered 4 kills and a block and Ava Scanlon added 3 kills and an ace. 

 

 

Varsity Lady Panther volleyball team defeated  Jamestown last night.  25-18, 25-11, 25-10. 

Laney Vincent had 7 kills

Adriana Ensell 10 aces, & 2 kills

Maddy Ford with 8 aces and MaxPrep player of the match Ali Haynes added 11 kills. 

The panthers will face off against perennial  state champions Our Lady of Mercy this evening at 6:00.
