Attention all students in Grades 9th through 12th: Winter Weekend will be held the weekend of January 31st. Crowning will be at halftime of the Boys Varsity basketball game on that Friday and the dance will take place on Saturday, February 1st from 8 – 11PM in the HS Gym.
ATTENTION STUDENT COUNCIL MEMBERS: We will meet this Tuesday during Period X in the library. On the agenda will be to decide the theme for Winter Weekend and hopefully come up with Spirit Week ideas as well. The dance will take place on Saturday, February 1st from 8 to 11PM. Tickets will go on sale starting the week of January 20th. More information will be forthcoming.
The Student Council, in connection with Connect Life, will be hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday, 01/14. Anyone who is interested in donating, please see Mrs. Welty or send her a chat via TEAMS. This is one of the most generous acts you can do to help people in need. Please consider donating!
NOW FOR YOUR PCS SPORTS NEWS:
Over break, the Lady Panthers improved to 5 and 2 by defeating Olean at the Joe DeCerbo Showcase. Leading the way for Portville was Emma Rhinehart with 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals. Ali Haynes & Addison Isaman contributed 6 points apiece with Haynes pulling down 6 boards and getting 3 steals. Ava Jo Edwards let the team with 4 steals, while Natalie Isaman led with 3 assists. Rhinehart was named Player of the Game, while Ashley Carls was given the Sportsmanship Award. The girls travel to Randolph tomorrow for their first league contest. The boy’s teams have home games tonight against Randolph and at halftime of the Varsity game, we will be unveiling the Sectional Championship banner the girls earned last season. It would be great to have the student body there to support both programs. GO PANTHERS!
The boys volleyball team defeated Bolivar-Richburg Friday night 25-21, 25-16, 25-11.
Abe Cook had 10 kills, 3 aces, 6 digs,
Luke Edwards chipped in 3 kills,
Colin German ran the offense with 18 assists , 5 aces and Vic Vena 5 aces, 2 assists. Player of the match Brady German led the team with 11 kills, 4 aces, 10 digs. The team is now 5 & 0 and will face Arkport at home Tuesday at 6:00
