The Lady Panthers improved to 13 and 9 with a sectional victory over the #1 seed Buffalo Riverside on Saturday afternoon. The girls jumped out to a 16 to 1 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Every single girl on the team contributed to the win in one capacity or another, whether it was scoring points, pulling down boards, playing solid defense, or pushing each other in practice the days before. Emma Rhinehart had 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 assists. Ali Haynes had 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Ashley Carls & Ava Jo Edwards defended their best players while each dropped 9 points. Carls also had 8 rebounds and 5 steals, while Edwards had 5 steals and 4 assists. Addison Isaman hit two key threes in the first half, while also swiping 6 steals and dishing out 5 assists. Both were career-highs for her. The girls will play in the sectional semifinals tomorrow at Maryvale HS versus Wilson at 5PM. If you see a Lady Panther, wish them GOOD LUCK!
