Now for a Special message from the Athletic Department:

Here are the Athletes of the Month for the month of October…………

Like last month we will break it up in 2 days today we are recognizing: Boys soccer, Girls Soccer and Swimming

Boys Soccer:

Todd Stone- Todd was an absolute shutdown defender in the final stretch of the season. He was responsible for defending the opposing team’s best player. As the season progressed, he gained confidence, and became a significant part of our attack as well. He even scored his first varsity goal against Pine Valley.

Christian Gariepy- Christian is our central midfielder, that plays an important role in setting up our attack. His tremendous skills with the ball coupled with his relentless hustle allowed us to own the middle of the field. Christian finished the season with 8 goals and 5 assists.

Brady German- Brady may be one of the smallest players on the field, but he plays as though he is the biggest. He never shies away from contact. He is always where he is supposed to be. He scored the game winning goal against Frewsburg in our quarter-finals playoff game. He finished the season with 5 goals and two assists, and two of those goals were game winners.

Michael Cole- Mikey is an absolute beast. Not only is he the fastest man alive, but he never quits. He plays forward, and his job is to score goals, but what makes him such a great player, is his constant pressure that he imposes on opposing defenses. He causes mayhem and forces turnovers in crucial areas on the field. Mikey finished the season as our leading goal scorer with 16 goals and 4 assists.

Girls Soccer:

Olivia Dean, forward > 7 goals & 4 assists on the season

Meghan Lyle, forward > 10 goals, 3 assists on the season

Both ladies were an offensive threat to other teams all season.  Their speed and aggressive play put pressure on opposing defenses constantly, and they played with great energy and passion all season.

Teagan Kosinski, Midfielder > 11 goals, 6 assists on the season.  She bounces around from position to position at times, sometimes being asked to leave her usual spot in the midfield to play up front, and other times playing defense.  She is a fearless competitor with great field vision.  Her ability to shoot from deep and to place corner kicks have been great weapons for our team all season.

Leah Wyant – For the second year in a row, Leah has helped anchor the defense with her speed, quickness, and the ability to anticipate.  Time after time she steps to the ball before the opponent, or uses her athletic ability to get back and recover.  She has saved dozens of potential breakaways again this year.  She rarely comes out of the game, which illustrates her physical conditioning and value on the field.

And Girls Swimming:

Molly Marshall

Molly had a fantastic end to her season as she dropped time in all her events at the CCAA Championships and at the Class B Championships.

Congratulations to these athletes.  Please see Mrs. Colligan for your certificate and T-shirt.

Tomorrow we will be recognizing Football, Cheerleading and Volleyball.
