Special Announcement from the Athletic Department

Congratulations to our Athletes of the Month for the month of October: We will recognize Boys soccer,  Girls Soccer and Volleyball today.  On Tuesday we will recognize Football and Cheer.

Boy Soccer

Bryan Randolph- Bryan has played an important role to our success throughout the playoffs. His defense to clog up the middle in the field, coupled by his ability to find his teammates in space is crucial for our attack. In the sectional final game, he scored our 3rd goal, which really ensured our victory.

Joe Randolph- Joey has steadily improved as the season has gone on….his play in the sectional semi-final game vs Wilson, was easily the best game of his career. His ability to take defenders on 1v1 and then fire in shots or crosses has allowed us to create an arsenal of attack against our opponents.

Troy VanSickle- Troy has recorded 7 shutouts this season as our goalkeeper. He has had over 80 saves and faced over 220 shots. When the defense breaks down, we know Troy will be there to bail us out.

Simon Szymanski- Simon has taken on the role of our shut-down defender. He has faced several all-league all-stars and was able to keep them all out of our net. His ferocious defense and his relentless effort is a huge reason for our success this season. He has also had the game winner vs Olean in over-time.

Girls Soccer

Natalie Reynolds - Sophomore defender. Natalie’s strong play in the middle and physical presence was a key factor for success this season. Natalie added her lone goal as a key in a 1-1 tie against Olean.

Olivia Dean - junior forward. Olivia had 14 goals and 6 assists this season, good for second highest on the team. Olivia has a great work ethic and leaves it all on the field.

Julia Wyant - Julia stepped into a starting role this year and was an instant impact player, shutting down the outside of the offensive third. She also overcame an injury and showed incredible toughness throughout.

Grace Gariepy - Grace burst onto the scene, scoring 13 goals and 4 assists, good for third on the team. Grace could not be outworked, and always flies around the field.

Volleyball

Adriana Ensell has been one of our leading servers this season and also plays a big role defensively.  She has recorded 45 digs, 26 aces, 3 kills for the month.

Sam Steadman has been a force at the net this season both blocking and attacking She has 43 kills, 13 aces, 5 blocks, 11 digs for the month.

Natalie Maurer has played a huge roll on the team with her blocking, attacking and positive attitude while helping push the underclassmen. She has s 12 kills, 10 blocks, 15 digs

Mia Rhinehart has played a huge roll this season with her aggressive defense as our libero and first server.

She has recorded 88 digs and 42 aces this month.

Brielle Fidurko has also played a huge role for the Panthers this season, especially in practice hitting against the starting lineup.

For the month she has recorded 3 kills, 1 ace, 2 blocks, and 3 digs.

And last but certainly not least, coach Unverdorben would like to recognize Emily Jordan had she not been injured this season she would have absolutely been a dominate defender for the Panthers. Thank you for supporting your team this season during your injury.

Congratulations to all these athletes again for your hard work and dedication! Please see Mrs. Colligan for your t-shirt and certificate.
