Congratulations to both the boys and girls bowling teams last night.  They both won against Ellicottville 4-0.  Emma Pinney bowled a 411 series and Kiyah Mohr bowled a 470 series. Nice job!

Congrats to our JV Lady Panthers basketball team on another road win last night, defeating the Frewsburg Bears.  Ali Haynes and Emma Rhinehart led all scorers with 11 and 10 points.  Addison Isaman also chipped in 6 points!

The Lady Panthers improved to 7-1 with a big league victory over Frewsburg last night. Down 2 and headed into the final quarter, the girls decided to play their best defense and make better decisions on offense. Ava Haynes & Jackie Scanlon held their best players scoreless in the stanza while every Lady Panther on the floor at that time scored. Lilly Bentley recorded another double-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Scanlon had 11 points and 7 rebounds, while Haynes had 8 boards. Teagan Kosinski & Avery DeFazio played great help defense while Kosinski hit two free throws to ice the game. Congrats ladies!! Lifting today at 2:30pm.

Now for a Special message from the Athletic Department:

Congratulations to the Athletes of the Month for the month of December:

Girls Basketball:

Teagan Kosinski, a senior captain, has taken over the role of point guard and done an admirable job. She played most of the month injured and was still able to work through it and contribute on the floor. She had a career-high night of 9 rebounds against Wellsville and dished out a career-best 5 assists on two different occasions. She leads the team in both steals and assists, with averages of 3.8 and 2.8 per game.

Jackie Scanlon, a junior guard, had a career-scoring night of 16 points against Allegany-Limestone and then stepped up big against Salamanca in the absence of Lilly. She had 15 in that game which helped secure our first league victory. She was our second leading scorer for the month, averaging 10 points, while also contributing 4.8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2.2 assists per game.

These girls helped the Lady Panthers achieve a 5 and 1 record for the month and win the Adam Elliott Tournament and our IAABO Showcase game. They should also be commended for their pesky defense

Wrestling:

Henry Chamberlain, sophomore, placed 3rd at the Portville Invitational Tournament and 2nd place at the STOWA tournament.  He recorded 9 pins and his record for the month of December was 14-3.

Sam Zeigler, junior, placed 3rd at the Portville Invitational.  He recorded 6 pins and his record was 11-1 for the month of December.

Boys Basketball

Ben Isaman, senior, during the month of December he averaged 8.8 points per game, had 34 rebounds, 10 deflections and 8 steals.

Aidan DeFazio, freshman, averaged 17.4 points a game, 11 deflections, 8 steals and took 3 charges.

Again, congratulations to these athletes for their hard work and dedication to their teams!  Athletes, come see me for your certificate and t-shirt.
