The Board of Education meeting scheduled for Tuesday, January 4, 2022, has been cancelled. The next meeting will be held Tuesday, January 18, at 7:00 p.m.
Portville families: As we return from our Christmas break and with the knowledge that COVID cases are on the rise across our region, we simply wanted to remind everyone to remain vigilant in protecting all of our students and staff at school. Parents should be screening their children daily for fever (100.4 or higher), headaches, cough, sore throat, fatigue, chills and other COVID like symptoms. We are asking all families to continue to error on the side of caution and keep children home when they present any of these symptoms. We want to remind parents that it is better for you to keep your child home then to have them sent home from school with symptoms, as there are more restrictions for returning to school. Thanks for doing your part to keep us moving forward with in-person learning.
Portville Elementary Families: A letter came home with your child immediately before Christmas break explaining how we are moving towards all electronic communication for attendance, appointments and dismissal changes. This is a web-based product called PickUp Patrol. Parents need to register for this program by January 21, 2022. Please click the link below for registration information.

Portville Central School
& “Presents-for-Panthers” 2021
Portville, and Portville Central School make our community a very special place.
As Presents-4-Panthers enters its 15th year, the support and contributions from the community have made the program one of the best-loved, best supported programs our school offers. Regardless of the current economy, Covid-19, personal, or community challenge, Its one program that ALL OF US have given something of themselves to…..and continue to do so each year.
Businesses
Churches,
Organizations,
Clubs,
Fire Halls,
Households,
Individuals,
And of course our school, through our faculty, staff, and Senior-student body ALL make Portville’s Presents-4-Panthers Program a remarkable program. Special thanks to Christine Sosnowski for the endless hours of work she puts in year after year organizing the elves.
Portville is a community that recognizes that “our children are our greatest resource”. We have a school chock full of dedicated professionals (not just teachers) that work very hard to give of our young people the benefit of all they are, and all they have. We have a community full of the same. These are the kind of people and programs that give back more than they take. You learn that when you grow up in Portville.
Portville’s classic recipe:
Ingredients:
Humanity
Opportunity
Love
Patience
Dignity
Humility
Respect
Integrity
Equity
Be certain to ensure access for all……
And the whole community can say they prepared this dish to pass.
Merry Christmas Portville!
