In light of the CDC's recommendation that children in the 12-15 age range can now be vaccinated for Covid-19, we have had quite a few calls asking if we would be holding a clinic here at the school as we did for the 16+ groups. At this point, there is no plan for the school to hold such a clinic for the 12-15 year-olds. However, if the Cattaraugus County Health Department asks us to partner with them again in offering the vaccine, we will consider it at that time. Thank you for your interest!

Portville Central School is no longer providing COVID-19 testing. If you are interested in getting a COVID-19 test, please contact either the County Health Department or your physician. The only exception: the school will be doing our own testing as is required for end of the year activities (prom, graduation etc.).

One Book One Community: “Life is tough but so are you: Panther Strong” Our One Book read aloud for the next two weeks is “The Old Woman Who Named Things,” written by Cynthia Rylant. I am including below a new Facebook link for our updated One Book One Community project. This Facebook page will allow us to post the stories and essential questions to discuss at home concerning the book and the pandemic in discussing our resiliency. Questions to discuss after reading our next story: 1. What does it mean to be resilient? 2. How does the main character of this story show resilience? 3. How has the Covid Pandemic affected your life (at home and here at school)? a. What are some good or positive things that you have learned or you have experienced from this time? b. What has been hard or challenging about the pandemic? Facebook Link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/123092161637932 Read Aloud Link: https://5il.co/rwzi
