Hi Families! Although internet use has been a blessing during the COVID-19 pandemic, increased time online also brings an increased risk of hidden dangers to your children. Children are online more often, socially isolated, and may be looking for attention; all things that can be exploited by online predators. We urge you to closely monitor your children’s internet use and talk to your children about online safety. Although privacy settings and monitoring software can help, they are not a substitute for open communication between parents and children about safe online activities. Please teach your children how to protect themselves online. https://www.missingkids.org/netsmartz/resources provides great information about online safety for you and your children, including the following Tip Sheet “Protecting your Kids Online 2.0”. If you have questions/concerns about your child’s internet safety, please contact his/her principal. Thank you!

We are reopening our Family Food Box program for anyone who has not yet received it. We are opening requests for 48 hours, so if you are in need, please call by 4pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2020. When leaving a message, please leave your name, address, phone number, and number of individuals in your household. The boxes will contain enough food for a week or two depending on the size of the family. Boxes will contain a variety of meats, vegetables, bread, cereal, an assortment of cheese, pasta, rice, and milk. We recognize families that would normally be okay could very well be struggling because of these unprecedented circumstances. You may be waiting for unemployment or social services to kick in and need a little help. Or, maybe you are self employed and can't access these services. Or perhaps you just could use a little help to get you over the hump. Let us help! We will deliver these meal boxes to your home, and this program is completely confidential. If you know of an elderly neighbor or friend that does not access Facebook, please let them know about this program. Please call 716-933-6701 to request a food delivery. No questions asked!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE CONCERNING MEAL DELIVERIES: As we continue to serve the community through meal deliveries, we are constantly reassessing our daily production and delivery routine to better protect the community and staff from the spread of COVID 19. With this in mind, we are planning to make a small change to our delivery practices. For those who greet the bus during meal delivery, we ask that they set a box (or cooler) on the ground and walk six feet away. The individual delivering will put the meals in the box. When they get back on the bus, you simply pick your box up with your meals and take it inside. We are making this change (for obvious reasons) to reduce close physical contact...particularly because we have folks going from home to home. We will start this on Monday, April 6th. A simple cardboard box will do. Thanks everyone!
