Due to the overwhelming response to our after-school groups, we are adding two activities to our Outside the School Day calendar for the month of March. We are offering ice skating at the Olean Recreation Center on Tuesday March 8th and Tuesday, March 22nd. You can only register for one of these dates. These events are for 3rd through 6th grade only and students may register only if they have not been registered for a March activity here at school (This excludes ELA and Math Review sessions). We are offering this to expand the number of children who have an opportunity for after school programming. You can register through the Links below which will open tonight, Thursday, March 3rd @ 6:00 pm. Registrations are set to be first come, first served. If you register your child for this event, they will be bussed to the rec center after school dismissal with chaperones. There are no costs including skate rental. Parents signing their children up must agree to pick up at the Olean Recreation Center @ 5:00 PM as there is no bussing back to school or home. IMPORTANT MASK INFORMATION: Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that she is lifting the NYS mask mandate in schools on Wednesday, March 2nd. We will continue to require masks for all students, staff, and visitors on February 28th and March 1st. The District will no longer require masks on Wednesday, March 2nd. If you still wish for your child to wear a mask in school, we will continue to provide masks daily. We will also provide them for all employees if they wish to continue wearing them. We also have Covid test kits available for all members of the Portville Central School Community. Thank you to all the parents/guardians that have supported us in abiding by the NYS mask mandate up to this point. And thank you to our teachers and staff for your unwavering support and cooperation as well.

OPEN SWIM MESSAGE: We are so happy to be able to open the pool back up to the public for free swim on Mondays and Fridays again! The attendance has been overwhelming...literally. With that said, we will have to cap the number of swimmers each night to 75. We are asking that parents NOT LEAVE THEIR CHILDREN until they are sure they are being admitted (aka one of the first 75 to sign in.) Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Cannonball!!

Elementary School Parents Thanks to you all for using Pick Up Patrol to submit plan changes! Please be sure that when making a change that you select the correct dismissal option from the drop down menu before entering a message to us. If you just enter a message, without selecting a new option, your child’s plan may not be recorded properly. For more information on making changes in PUP, please refer to the video below. Aiden, Caleb, and John did great at the 2022 VEX robotics competition in Cuba today. Their robot performed just as they designed it to. They suffered a bit of a misfortune getting hung up on a ring in their final bout, essentially ending their day, but not before demonstrating great driving skills, design and building work, teamwork and sportsmanship. Overall they can be very proud of their performance. Be sure to congratulate them on a job well done.
